Jason
Jason was famous for his leadership of the Argonauts and his journey for the Golden Fleece. He was the son of Aeson and Polymede. He married Medea, the daughter of Aeëtes, whom he met on the island of the Golden Fleece, and together they had three children, Thessalus, Alkimenes, and Tisandrus.
Jason, the son to Aeson and Polymede, and the nephew to Pelias, was born the heir to the throne of Iolcus. As the story goes Jason was born into the world of royalty just after Aeson's brother, Pelias, decided to take the power for himself and overthrow the throne. Pelias overthrew Aeson and imprisoned his brother. Polymede, seeing that her family was in danger, dissaperaed to have Jason in secret. The baby boy was taken in by a cenatur, Chiron, where he was safe from the dangers of his bloodline. Polymede returned to her husband pretending as Jason had died at birth, ehich convinced Pelias. Pelias became suspicious of anyone who was in line for the throne, so he killed all of his family, to ensure his placement in the kingdom.
While Pelias ruled over Iolcus, Jason grew up under the teachings of Chiron, learning the rules of the land in his secret safety. When he came of age Jason returned to the kingdom to claim his rightful place as king, but Pelias was not giving up his place to a stranger that the oracle had warned about. It was at this time Pelias took Jason in, pretending to be nice to him for five days until Jason decided it was time to get his kingdom back for his father, whom was still imprisoned. In a last hope to keep his throne, Pelias tricked Jason into going on a journey by stating that he could not because of his old age. Jason agreed to the quest of retrieving the Golden Fleece confidently. It is here that his journey started.
